Idlis

Ingredients :

  • Num-Num Powder- 5 tbsp
  • Curd- 5 tbsp
  • Grated veggies of your choice- 2-3 tbsp
  • Ghee- 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- ¼ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds- ¼ tsp
  • Chopped green chillies- ¼ tsp (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fruit salt (ENO)- 1 tsp

Procedure :

  1. Mix in the Num-Num powder and curd and rest for 10 mins.
  2. Add water to get a batter like consistency. Add the grated veggies and salt.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan and splutter the mustard and cumin seeds. Add the chillies to it and off goes the flame.
  4. Add this mixture to the batter and mix well.
  5. Just before steaming add the fruit salt and give a good mix.
  6. Grease the idli moulds with oil/ghee. Pour the batter and steam the idlis for 12-15 mins.
  7. Serve these delicious and healthy Num-Num idlis with sambar and chutney.
